New Product Manufacturing Technician - (F05-160 LK)

The New Product Development Manufacturing Technician for Enerpac in Columbus, WI is responsible for development and execution of Manufacturing Engineering Technician activities for new product development projects. This includes new process development to achieve the company's cost, quality and delivery objectives. These projects will involve new products, design improvement and value engineering on existing products having a significant impact on the company's operations.

Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:
Associate's Degree (A.S.S.) from two-year college or university in related field of Engineering; or equivalent related work experience.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment is required. Six sigma experiences would be preferable.
Experience in new product introduction processes, design for manufacture, tooling evaluation, facilities engineering, and cost savings through improved processes and efficiencies are required.
Ability to work in a team and take direction from Manufacturing Engineers is required.
Basic working knowledge of MRP, JIT and Kan Ban systems is required.
Intermediate PC skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel are required, Project preferable.
Ability to effectively communicate (orally and through written communications) with staff on all levels of the organization (direct labor to executives) is required.
Good organization skills are required.

Key responsibilities of this individual are:
Assist & execute all Manufacturing Engineering Technician functional activities for new product projects with heavy emphasis on production line setup, training of operators, and overall new product production enablement activities.
Ensures smooth transition of new product programs into the production environment and supports the new program for the initial 6 month production period in the facility(s).
Be able to work in a team environment and coach assemblers on proper process / technique, hold meetings and professionally communicate both orally and in writing with all departments.
Be able to create, develop, and refine work instructions (EATS) for assemblers to follow.
Be able to layout & refine component part presentation to meet all requirements of assembly & restocking.
Assist the development and implementation of LEAN Manufacturing activities for new product designs.
Reviews new product designs for effective and low cost method of manufacturing
Assists Manufacturing Engineers in cost estimates for new production equipment & process changes
Specifies and/or provides necessary tools, fixtures, equipment and related training as required for plant production and testing. Follows up to insure efficient ergonomic safe operating conditions and methods.
Investigates new tooling methods, machine tool innovations and improvements in testing and techniques to continuously up-date production efficiencies.
