Offload Engineering Director

PDS Technical Services is looking for a Director of Engineering to join our branch in North L.A./ San Fernando Valley CA!! PDS is in the people business - a proven leader in our industry. This position will report to the President.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Market and develop new clients
2. Maintain regular customer relationships through ongoing contact and communications.
3. Develop new business and client relationships
4. Forecast and manage budget of expenses and costs relative to revenue and achieving positive operating contributions of 10% or greater.
5. Direct and prepare project proposals and bid efforts for new work.
6. Specify equipment and software for purchase and approve all purchases necessary for daily operation.
7. Hire/Fire support staff and manage job assignments based on individual capabilities, evaluate personnel for annual performance reviews.
8. Maintain avenues for continuous training on new CAD software versions and releases.
9. Outsource specialty engineering work or assembly/fabrication via industry standard bid methods.
10. Track and oversee projects for scheduling, accuracy of concept development and timely and accurate execution.
11. Summarize job completions for invoicing purposes.
12. Review invoices prior to release to client and track for timely completion.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.S. degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace or Engineering Technology from an accredited university.
2. Minimum 5 years work experience in the aerospace industry in tool design.
3. Minimum 2 years (4,000 hours) experience with Catia and/or Unigraphics
4. Minimum 3 years experience personnel management or Engineering Lead experience.
5. Verbal and written communication skills and capability to use MS office suite including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Project.
6. Excellent Customer Service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Licensed Professional Engineer in Washington State or another state with P.E. reciprocity a plus.
2. Work experience using finite element and structural analysis computer applications such as NASTRAN, ALGOR, STAAD, COSMOS.
