Offshore Structural Design Specialist for Trinidad

There are actually 2 positions - one for a Design Supervisor and one for a Design Specialist.

Job Description:

The project is in Port of Spain, Trinidad.  They are currently in the primary steel stages of

detailed design on Offshore Platforms.

Prepare layouts and conceptual designs for difficult and complex problems

Prepare complex design drawings

Interface with other design disciplines

Be proficient in AutoCad 2D and 3D PDS CAD capabilities, as required

Work independently with little or no supervision

Check complex steel design drawings

Perform squad check of vendor equipment drawings and other discipline drawings

Review fabricator drawings

Perform Duties as or assist the Design Supervisor, as required

Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-classification designers

Communicate, both verbally and in written form in a professional manner

Actively participate in Knowledge Community and other available resources

Evaluate Performance Appraisal input and administer counseling

Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals

Participate in department training programs/seminars and on-line training

Other duties as assigned

 

 

Job Requirements: 20+ years of experience, PDS experience

Degree Required: 2 year degree preferred, and 20+ years of relevant experience
