Optical Engineer: Initiate the design, development, execution and implementation of free optics and micro-optics designs such as optical trains for semiconductor laser packages. Familiarity with optical testing equipment and laboratory procedures associated to optical design and development practices. Experience collimating light into fiber optics cables. Experience on optical metrology as well as its applications to optical design and optical fiber sensors. Investigate the feasibility of applying fiber optical principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plan and execute laboratory research. Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

A Masters degree or equivalent in a technical discipline is required. A PhD is preferred. Minimum of 2 years successful industry-level experience. PowerPoint and Excel required. Lab experience with optical characterization techniques, alignment, assembly and calibration. Optical spectral monitoring and laser knowledge. Experience in the use of commercial optical design software packages and modeling tools.
