Advanced knowledge of optics and optical design

Optical path analysis including interactions between various optical components

Support image processing algorithm development by working with electrical hardware, software and mechanical hardware engineers to produce robust algorithm designs. Will apply engineering disciplines to provide robust electronics designs, which include electromagnetic compatibility, design, thermal management, circuit simulation, D-FMEA's, etc.

Participates in continuous improvement processes. Works within engineering to continuously improve processes and practices for Product Development.

Performs other duties as necessary to support project and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities will include:
Lead Subsystem Design of the optical path utilizing system engineering processes. This includes design and specification of subsystem with supporting Design Analysis and D-FMEA's to provide a robust optical path.

Lead Component Specification, design and selection of CMOS and CCD based image sensors for use in a wide range of ambient lighting levels. This will include the design, selection and integration of leading edge automotive grade components. Lead image sensor characterization and qualification process. Define / design methods and processes to characterize image sensors for uses in various products. Primary technical interface to image sensor suppliers.

Lead Component Specification, design and selection of automotive grade optics and optical filters. Primary technical interface to optics suppliers.
