Optics Process Engineer


Knowledge & Skills:


? Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor?s degree or exceptional relevant industrial experience in closely related technologies

?Minimum Years of Practical Experience:
5 years

Other Training, Technical Skills, or Knowledge which are required:


? Extensive knowledge of manufacturing tooling and fixturing, reading mechanical drawings desired required
? Experience in manufacturing engineering for optical or opto-mechanical assemblies
? Working knowledge of high power diode lasers
? Experience with statistical analysis and statistical process control
? Working knowledge of electronic and optical test equipment

Abilities & Behaviors:

? Strong laboratory and analytical skills

? Communication skills
? Team player Planning skillsDocumentation Skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

? Support the manufacturing processes/operation of building and testing laser diodes and delivery fiber assemblies: include optics based process development, yield improvement, cost reduction, root cause analysis, operator training and certification, SPC deployment, documentation

? Optical or mechanical optimization and development.
? Optical modeling using Zemax or other tools.
? Work on tooling and processes with other engineers and designers to enable product build and release.
? Training, company communication and other commitments.
