Opto-Mechanical Engineer

ADE Corporation is a $100M+ supplier of metrology and inspection systems for the silicon wafer and computer disk manufacturing industries.  The company's systems analyze and report product quality at critical manufacturing process steps and provide quality certification data that is relied upon by semiconductor and computer disk manufacturers.  The company's systems also are used in the fabrication of integrated circuits.  Our facility in Tucson, AZ is home to the majority of our optical systems development work.

 

We have a need in Tucson for a Sr. Opto-Mechanical Engineer to design precision opto-mechanical assemblies for advanced metrology instrumentation based on performance analyses utilizing analytical as well as finite-element calculations.  This position requires significant experience in optics mounting and precision mechanics.  In particular, it entails turning tightly toleranced optical designs into mechanical hardware, implementing low stress mount designs, and optimizing assemblies for vibrational stability.

 

The successful candidate should have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years opto-mechanical experience, or PhD in mechanical engineering and 2+ years opto-mechanical experience.  Practical experience in manufacturability issues of high precision assemblies is a plus, as is experience with Solid Edge or equivalent solid modeling software.  Experience with Ansys or equivalent FEA software helpful.
