PD- Powertrain Noise Vibration and Harshness Engineer

Job Details include but are not limited to:
Product Development employees are a vital part of the team that provides new technology for new Ford products.  Product Development employees develop product cycle plans that help forecasters determine our approach to different markets. Research, design, packaging and financial analysts help set the path for a new vehicle?s production.  Engineers create new technologies and vehicles to meet market demands using a mix of CAE tools and hardware prototypes to support Design, Rapid Prototyping and Validation.


Powertrain Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Engineers:
 - Lead NVH development of Advanced, Forward Model, and current production powertrains and subsystems, including engines, transmissions, drivelines, axles, etc.

- Set system and component level NVH targets.

- Interpret test data and CAE results supporting design/release activities to ensure NVH targets are achieved.

- Validate hardware and support production quality using Six Sigma and Robustness methods.

- Develop, implement, and document Powertrain NVH methods and metrics.


Job Requirements:
 -Minimum 3 years experience in Powertrain NVH or Rotating Machinery NVH.

- Ability to lead development testing in NVH dynamometer labs.

- Proficiency with NVH experimental methods and tools (LMS and/or Prosig software, time and frequency signal analysis, Modal Analysis, etc).

- Strong Systems Engineering skills with demonstrated ability to analyze function needs, develop requirements, robust design specifications and validation methods.

- Experience in bringing new technology from an initial concept phase to a fully validated robust design.
- Strong communication, teamwork and project management skills.

Education Preference:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) is required.

Master's Degree or PhD. is highly preferred.
