PLM Configuration Analyst II
Job Synopsis:

Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, performs data management work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining, and upgrading CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications and processes. Perform tasks to ensure PLM systems integrity and manage all product configuration data and information throughout the products lifecycle.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Executes plans, according to schedules, for engineering assignments.
2. Responsible for engineering feasibility of CAD and PLM solutions for complex assignments or full project of minor complexity.
3. Work with the product build teams and business systems to ensure data exchange accurately represent the business requirements.
4. Define use cases, design models and interface control documents supporting integration architecture and tools, application design, enterprise data warehouse concepts and design methodologies.
5. Support cross product integration efforts by validating data sources, data targets and transport constructs.
6. Coordinates activities for lower level engineering staff assigned to specific projects.
7. Actively works to improve daily processes, to ensure all CAD and PLM systems meet customer requirements.
8. Analyzes user needs to determine engineering and product data requirements, CAD and PLM functional requirements, and perform analysis as well as process and data modeling to meet user needs.
9. Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis, process mapping or system implementation results and works toward corrective action.
10. Develop integration between various application platforms to facilitate data exchange and process automation.
11. Develop system queries and utilities to support users information researches.
12. Assists in the testing and implementation of new deployment or revisions to the CAD and PLM systems.
13. Execute tasks for coordinating the release of product definition data, change management and product configuration management, including quality control and change reporting.
14. Ensures proper security, archiving and audibility of product releases.
15. Analyzes internal user procedures, process/work flow, monitor and report business and system status metrics.
16. Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of discipline developments and recommend innovations to improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of the company product.
Prerequisites
1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience.
2. Proven computer literacy that includes PC Windows environment with specific skills in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project
3. Must have strong interpersonal skills, self motivated, and a general understanding of engineering/manufacturing data requirements and design tools.
4. Working knowledge of Unix Operating systems, AIX, HP and utilities job processing languages.
5. Working knowledge of large relational data warehouses concepts, logical/physical data modeling, SQL query development and processes.
6. Minimum of five (5) years engineering, or IT experience, with at least two (2) years database administration, data migration/conversion or related experience.
