PLM Systems/Configuration Specialist II

Position Summary
Provide leadership and participate in technical teams to design and architect business solutions for a shared infrastructure of CAD and related Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications and processes. Supports data security and longevity tasks of respoitory data throughout the product lifecycle.



Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides technical expertise to the staff in all phases of the development and implementation process, gathering of requirements and executes plans, according to schedules, for engineering assignments.
2. Responsible for engineering feasibility of CAD and PLM solutions for complex assignments or full project of minor complexity.
3. Coordinates activities for lower level engineering staff assigned to specific projects.
4. Actively works to improve daily processes, to ensure all CAD and PLM systems meet customer requirements.
5. Analyzes user needs to determine engineering and product data requirements, CAD and PLM functional requirements, and perform analysis as well as process and data modeling to meet user needs.
6. Recognizes discrepancies and/or problems with analysis, process mapping or system implementation results and works toward corrective action.
7. Tailor CAD and PLM Applications functionality to established requirements, policies and procedures. Generate documentation to leverage integration methodologies across several projects.
8. Develop integration between various application platforms to facilitate data exchange and process automation to reach business objectives efficiently..
9. Develop system queries and utilities to support users information researches
Assists in the testing and implementation of new deployment or revisions to the CAD and PLM systems.
10. Analyzes, monitor and report business and system status metrics
11. Responsible for producing Product Structure and Engineering Bill of Material for use in and production and QA.
12. Responsible for the release of product definition data, change management and product configuration management activities, including quality control, change reporting and data security.
13. Ensures proper security, archiving and audibility of product releases.
14. Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in a specific discipline and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of the company product.




Prerequisites
1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience.
2. Proven computer literacy that includes PC Windowss environment with specific skills in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and MS Project
3. Must have strong interpersonal skills, self motivated, and a general understanding of engineering/manufacturing data requirements and design tools.
4. Minimum of ten (10) years engineering, or IT experience or (10) years engineering experience with broad experience in several technical disciplines, including five (5) years specific database administration, data migration/conversion or related experience.
5. Minimum of four (4) years configuration management experience.
6. Experience with CAD and PDM tools (CATIA and ENOVIA LCA, VPM preferred)
7. Ability to understand the vulnerabilities and sources of threats, results of risk assessments, and current security state to translate these into a complete threat and vulnerability management solution
8. Implement and operate process of integrated data security solutions.
9. Requires working knowledge of large relational databases concepts, logical/physical data modeling, SQL query development and processes.
10. Basic knowledge of design engineering and manufacturing engineering applications and processes.
