JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Process Engineer II will report to the Senior Management Staff.  Assignments will include support on small to medium engineering projects, as well as facilitating and documenting safety reviews on projects for new and existing production facilities.  The position will require travel to urban and rural locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

? Support PSM and HSSE projects, through direct contact with EMERALD clients.

? Write technical reports for engineering and management personnel.

? Facilitate Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) meetings during safety reviews of new and existing facilities.

? Operating procedure development for refinery operations.

? Provide engineering support for multiple oil and gas facilities.

? Write proposals and develop cost estimates for future projects.

? Marketing and business development.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

? B.S. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

? 2 years combined experience in one or more of the following areas:

o  Process Hazards Analysis (PHA)

o  Process Safety Management (PSM)

o  Hazard and Operability Studies (HazOp)

? 2 years professional experience in, or familiarity with, the oil and gas industry.

? Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology; this includes applying principles, techniques and procedures.

? Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

? Training facilitation.

? Strong technical writing background.

? Ability to work independently with little direct supervision as well as work productively in a team environment.

? Strong problem solving skills.

? Willingness and ability to travel.

? Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

? Federal Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) regulatory knowledge.

? Currently has, or able to get within 2 years, Professional Engineering Certification (P.E.).

? Acquaintance with HYSYS, Aspen, ChemCAD or other process modeling software.
