Tyco Electronics is seeking a Product Design Engineer who will be responsible for the overall design and engineering modifications of Contactors, relays, and assempbly panels. This will require skills gained in the electronic component industry including electro-mechanical design and product development. In a product focus team consisting of product engineers, designers and other engineers, you will determine design objectives with customers and lead product design projects from concept through the manufacturing process. In this position, you will also be responsible for interfacing with customers on applications, designing to and applying for agency (UL,CSA, VDE, etc) approvals, and interfacing with manufacturing to generate cost savings, and implementing product expansions.

BSEE or BSME. Seven plus years experience in the electronic component industry, strong electro-mechanical design background in contactors, panel assembly testing, and electromagnetic properties along with proficient technical skills to produce results. Visual Basic or C++ programming along with test engineering background would be beneficial.
