Packaging Automation Design Engineer

- Develop and commercialize flexible bag making and automated packing equipment solutions to deliver manufacturing capability & productivity.
- Specify and manage design and development of equipment and systems.
- Validate designs for new or substantially modified packaging equipment.
- Work with multi-discipline teams to develop and implement operational requirements and change models.
- Manage projects to ensure schedule, cost, and quality.
- Lead outside vendors, contractors and engineers to develop, validate, and implement technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop new automation technology applications and vendors that will provide unique solutions to drive down manufacturing costs. ?
- Work with vendors and Operations to develop and validate new technology applications.
- Apply engineering principles in development, evaluation, and validation of technical specifications. ?Key focus on reliability based tools and analysis (FMECA, RAM, etc.)
- Prepare statistically valid testing plans to ensure functionality, uptime, and robustness.
- Participate in/lead technical team of colleagues and vendors to accomplish project/program objectives
- Closely work with external vendors and consultants to perform proof of principle tests, customize and drive design for full scale application, perform factory acceptance tests, and operationalize working solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

- 2+ Years engineering expierence
- Field expierence starting up, debugging, and commercializing equipment & systems
- Solid mechanical & electrical design skills
- Effective project management and problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, aggressive, results-oriented culture.
Expiernece developing test plans to measure equipment uptime & reliability

Preferred Qualifications:

- VFF bag making, weighing, or inspection.
- Servo motion control
- Automatic case erecting and/or packing
- Analytical engineering modeling and simulation skills (Extend)
- Statistical quality control (CpK) experience
