Position Description:

Chevron Energy Technology Company (ETC) is accepting online applications for a Petroleum Engineer (0608-50078824) located in San Ramon, California or Houston, Texas through August 24, 2006.

Qualifications:

Overview of Position: Petroleum Engineer who will provide Petroleum Engineering asset evaluation and/or operations support to one or more Chevron upstream business units. Engineer will likely lead teams of technical staff on projects that support asset transaction initiatives by the business units.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

The focus of the work is generally to:
- assist in framing development scenarios for oil and gas fields and generating production forecasts and reserves for them from data provided in data rooms or gathered from other external sources or
- providing general reservoir/production engineering support to on-going major capital projects and/or base business assets.
Some domestic and international travel to visit data rooms will be required. For some projects, the work is done at the SBU location, which will also require travel.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:

- Bachelor?s degree required in Petroleum Engineering

- Relocation benefits will be considered.

- Engineers with ETC will often work on project teams with operating company (OPCO) and other technology company people. They are often required to travel to OPCO locations to perform studies and support of ongoing operations. Travel may be for extended periods of up to a month or more. Average travel time for team members is 15-20% but could be as high 30-35% for some depending on the type of project.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Able to provide broad services for operating companies in reservoir and production engineering as an extension to base operating staffs. Reservoir engineering, production forecasting, & reserves expertise for a wide range of reservoir types and depletion schemes.
- Experience in conceptual reservoir/field development planning & reserves estimation. Data room, DA & economic analysis experience.
- Able to evaluate reservoir development options including primary and assisted recovery applications. Production/Exploration asset portfolio management.
- Able to provide mentoring and training in reservoir and production engineering.
- Experience in waterflood management, surveillance & optimization and enhanced oil recovery techniques desirable.
