Pilot Plant Engineer

Position:  Pilot Plant Engineer

Reports To:  Technical Director

Department: Pilot Plant (Test Laboratory)

 

Position Objectives:

1) Provide technically advanced, problem-solving chemical engineering in a hands-on OEM laboratory environment

2) Effectively communicate proposed scope and ultimate results of pilot plant work in timely, well-organized written and oral formats

 

 

Required Attributes:

? Ability to generate an organized approach to experimental testing and data collection

? High degree of technical competence, especially the ability to think creatively ?on the fly? when things do not go as planned

? Must be able to write clear and effective test proposals and test reports

? Must have skills to perform intermediate level chemical equilibrium and kinetic calculations, as well as heat and mass transfer analysis

 

Qualifications:

? Chemical engineering MS or PhD from accredited U.S. university

? Minimum 2 years chemical industry experience or equivalent

? Demonstration of excellent written and oral communication skills

1. Plan test campaigns for the pilot-scale thermal processing and micro-encapsulation equipment using input from Sales and direct communication with customers.  Write proposals to customers that detail the test plan and pricing.

3. Provide day-to-day support and problem solving for test work in the Pilot Plant

4. Provide support for Sales including providing technical direction and assistance with equipment proposals
