Position Description:
Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for Pipeline Engineers (50151891) located in various international locations and Houston, TX through December 31, 2006.
Chevron is a significant producer of oil and gas in many countries around the world including Angola, Nigeria, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, and Venezuela. Qualifications:
The Pipeline Engineer has a broad scope of responsibilities in design, construction, operations, maintenance, integrity and modification of pipeline transportation and storage facilities. Pipeline Functional support includes corrosion prevention, reliability, energy management and routine operation support of electric power systems, civil/structural equipment, fixed and rotating mechanical equipment, and instrumentation and controls.
? Incident Free Operations. Must be able to champion safety performance of company and contract crews.
? Interpersonal and Teamwork Skills: Self starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional, multinational team.
? Demonstrated project management skills. Experience in managing multiple small to major capital projects.
SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

Project Management:
Demonstrated project management skills. Wide experience in managing multiple small to medium-sized projects.
Technical Competence:
Ability to coordinate Pipeline Design and/or support Operating facilities in routine operations and maintenance of pipeline facilities. Scope includes new and modified existing onshore and/or offshore facilities, including piping & storage facilities.
Requires strong pipeline background with pipeline facilities (e.g. pigging, corrosion prevention, NDE, transportation & installation planning, etc.).
Technical Competence:
Demonstrated experience in oversight of pipeline surveys and routes, pipeline hydraulic simulations and sizing, design and specifications, pipeline protection, riser tie-ins, and constructability reviews; support, design and installation of pig launchers/receivers; and support of pipeline installation, testing and commissioning. Manages the work scope including progress, cost, quality, communication and interfaces.
