 Performing and evaluating piping stress analysis (using Caesar II Software) and revising piping system designs.
? Responsible for pipe support component selection and pipe support design criteria such as:
o Expansion joints for large bore, hot piping
o Spring hangers
o Standard and Design supports
? Consulting with Sub-Contracted Detail Design firms on piping engineering concerns.
? Consulting with Sub-Contracted Detail Design firms on Piping Stress issues such as:
o Stress reports
o Construction level documentation
o Equipment nozzle load analysis
? Attending site visits to provide clarification and interpretations of drawings and specifications and troubleshooting piping support systems
? Participating in system design activities such as:
o P&ID development, Piping Material and Valve Specifications
o Piping Line Indices
o Fluid system hydraulic calculations
o Preparing requisitions for procurement of Piping Specialty items and pipe supports
o Bid evaluation of requisitioned components
o Reviewing and approving contractor documents and drawings, insulation thickness tables and specifications
o Piping Design and Fabrication specifications
? Developing and maintaining in-house procedures
? Keeping current with technical and regulatory piping developments
? Documenting piping expertise through written memos, procedures, tools, and papers
? Coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers.
? Reviewing the work of others and advising on technical problems.
? Contributing to the development and maintenance of infrastructure. Identifies needs and opportunities for work process improvement.
? Keeping up to date with current technology developments in assigned areas and shares this knowledge with others, where appropriate.
? Providing technical support for proposals.
? Setting standards and mentoring others in the review of engineering design data for completeness and consistency prior to finalization of documents for Issue for Fabrication release.


The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

? B.S. degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
? A minimum of 10 years experience in the design, procurement, fabrication and installation of piping related components in the Chemical Plant, Petroleum Refining, Petrochemical, or Gas Processing industries.
? Advanced knowledge and experience in using applicable codes such as: ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5 and ASME Sections I & VIII and API, ANSI, MSS etc
