Power Plant Technician (Electrical)

Job Description: Follow power plant maintenance procedures (verbatim compliance) to disassemble, inspect, repair and/or replace reactor plant, steam plant or auxiliary system motors, circuit breakers, controllers, switchboards and similar electrical components during plant outages. Alternatetively, prepare maintenance documentation to be used for outage work outlined above, during the several week workup period prior to outages. Also, assemble objective quality evidence documentation into completed work packages following repair.

Required Certifications: SY nuclear worker, Navy nuclear training or QA certification.

Specific Skills Required: Experience in the maintenance of Navy or commercial nuclear power plant electrical components, systems and/or equipment, including safety considerations and plant and systems conditions required for maintenance. Extensive experience and credentials in quality control obtained in a nuclear shipyard or Navy nuclear program.

Desired Skills Required: Navy nuclear program electrical operator, SY X51N, radiological worker/supervisor qualifications while in Navy, active duty or nuclear SY. Specialized experience in the use and maintenance of electrical maintenance documentation.

Presence in commercial nuclear power plant spaces may be required. Physical ability to work in power plant spaces, climb ladders, inspect hard to reach areas.

Minimum of 8 years related experience.

Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to maintain a Confidential security clearance.
