Power Supply Product Development Manager

C&D Technologies, Inc. is a publicly held, global, high-tech manufacturer that produces and markets systems for the power conversion and storage of electrical power, including industrial batteries and electronics. We currently have an opening in our Power Electronics Division for a Power Supply Product Development Manager based in Mansfield, MA.

 

Lead a Development Group in Designing and Developing High-Frequency, High-Density, Switch-Mode DC/DC Power Supplies.

 Staff, develop, and manage engineering resources to meet product development targets from Marketing.Provide technical leadership in product development.  Lead new technology research for future product needs.Ensure proper engineering activities faithfully and efficiently executed and development quality maintained.Provide guidance and leadership in cross-functional development teams with assistance from program manager.  Interact with Marketing, Sales, or customers to define product spec. or product solutions.Communicate and exchange technical know-how with sister groups to facilitate technology transfer and overall engineering capability building.Ensure and facilitate design reviews & other design activities.Evaluate performance of direct reports.  Conduct in-time communications and annual performance reviews.  Provide technical approaches and estimated man-hours to support quotations and ROI analysis.

 

Qualifications:

 ? Solid engineering/project management experience with great insight with concurring engineering activities ? Good leadership skill.? Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in all facets of high frequency high-density switching power supply design including circuit topologies, control theories, loop compensation, magnetics design, EMI/RFI, supervisory functions, and PCB layout. Ability to lead design and development of new DC/DC converters based on product specification and/or marketing requirements.Ability to resolve/overcome technical hurdles with innovative circuitry and/or methods.Familiarity with modern electronic components and their applications. Familiarity of simulation tools such as PSPICE, Simplis, etc.

? Candidate must be flexible, pro-active, and willing to dedicate necessary efforts when needed to meet team objectives.

 

Other Requirements :

 Minimum 3 years of engineering management experiences.BSEE with 8 years? experiences, MSEE with 5 years? experiences, or Ph.D. with 3 years? experiences in designing & developing high-frequency, high-density DC/DC converters. Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
