Prin. or Sr. Software Quality Engineer

My client, a growing international medical device company, is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs engineering work requiring full competency in all conventional aspects of Quality Assurance software engineering. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and the substantial adaptation of QA software engineering techniques, procedures and criteria; devises new approaches to problems as encountered. Plans and coordinates detailed phases of the AQ engineering activities for part of a major project or a total project of moderate scope. Routinely provides guidance and direction to engineers and/or technicians for the duration of a project assignment. Operates as a key technical contributor to the improvement of software development and testing processes specifically related to safety critical software systems.
? Possesses and applies a solid knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to software quality systems engineering in order to complete assignments of moderate difficulty.
? Uses considerable judgment in the planning, scheduling and coordinating of project phases, as well as the selection of engineering techniques and criteria.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
? Excellent verbal communication skills and technical writing skills.
? Able to plan and conduct effective meetings and group presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field. Seven plus years formal quality software engineering with safety critical software systems experience.
? Knowledge and skill in quality software engineering documentation procedures, development methods and project management, with the ability to rapidly master internal procedures and methods, such as Documentation System, ECOs, DVTs, MDRs and DPRs, etc. within established training guidelines and timetables.
? Depth of knowledge of FDA/ISO 9001 standards and proven skill in integrating into quality software discipline.
? Proven ability to work effectively with and lead other engineering staff members.
? Ability to work with vendors to ensure quality products.
