Perform static and dynamic structural analysis of complex space-flight structures using finite element and hand calculation methods. Perform structural analysis using NASTRAN finite element code and FEMAP pre- and post-processor. Types of analysis include stress, modal, vibration, and fatigue/fracture of metallic and composite honeycomb structures. Gather and consolidate structural requirements from program documents, customer specifications (NASA or commercial), and standard analysis practices and communicate these requirements to management and the analysis team. Produce accurate results under tight program schedules. Prepare reports and make presentations as required. Must have good communication skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Work closely with design and program personnel to insure the hardware design meets all structural analysis requirements. Plan and conduct strength, vibro-acoustic, and modal tests.

A minimum of 8 years performing static and dynamic structural analysis of aerospace components using finite element and hand calculation methods. Good understanding of the NASTRAN finite element code. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering. Master's degree preferred.
