Principal Project Engr - Partner Interface

Major Focus of Position: Understand and communicate customer needs to business unit within Westinghouse. Act as focal point for all communications with customer and lead major marketing/project activities, contract execution, order implementation and control, and resolution of technical and non-technical problems between customer and Westinghouse in the commercial nuclear industry. Assure that customer needs are met in a manner consistent with Westinghouse strategic and financial objectives.Required Skills:


Perform lead role for major marketing activities, order implementation and control, and resolution of problems for specific customer. Direct resolution of highly complex technical, contractual, and financial problems involving internal and customer personnel/organizations while concurrently managing multiple tasks. Make technical and commercial decisions as appropriate.
Assist project manager in direction and administration of project office activities and assume project manager's responsibilities in absence. Provide recommendations to project manager as appropriate.
Develop and maintain critical working relationships with customer personnel as point of contact for requests and in day-to-day communication, up to and including senior manager/vice-president levels. Learn the customer's organization, objectives, and expectations thoroughly; understand utility economics.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of business unit products/services, commercial operations, financial planning, and strategic objectives. Increase orders by integrating Westinghouse product/service capabilities and developing creative strategies to address customer needs with them. Develop and manage implementation of complex marketing strategies.
Research customer needs and competitor information to develop specific customer business plans and objectives and provide Westinghouse strategic direction concerning future opportunities with customer.
Represent customer's views to Westinghouse organization and assume lead responsibility to promptly resolve scope, warranty, deficiency, suspense, and cost/schedule conflicts internally and in the best interests of both the customer and Westinghouse.
Direct major multi-business unit proposal/contract preparations, customer presentations, and contract negotiations. Communicate customer requirements to product lines.
Maintain critical Westinghouse multi-business unit product line relationships up to and including service manager level, as necessary, for prompt resolution of customer requirement conflicts. Coordinate the efforts for various internal groups in a synergistic/integrated manner to accomplish tasks and resolve problems.
Commit product line resources for routine and emergency situations when necessary to meet customer needs.
Direct activities associated with order acceptance, implementation, invoicing, and closeout; assist in coordination of product line resources.
Promote/support activities of site service manager and other personnel at U.S. and international locations; assume responsibilities of site service manager during absences.Experience Requirements:

Bachelors Degree

*Science
*MBA preferred- Project manage large complex engineering and licensing programs requiring the coordination of multiple functional engineering groups, design partners, subcontractors and architect engineers to support final design and implementation of AP1000 Balance of Plant systems, structures and components.
- Experience in interfacing with utility customers, architect engineers, as well as regulatory agency from engineering line positions up to and including senior management
- Participation in Westinghouse Project Excellence program and certification at the PM2 level
