Principle Engineer - I&C Systems/Functional Design Engineer

Major Focus of Position: Perform complex engineering design and analyses in the commercial nuclear industry and provide technical leadership/project management in design, development, training, performance, and delivery of technical products and services for projects that require integration of team efforts across multifunctional groups. Effectively define, implement, and drive projects to successful completion.Required Skills:


Sufficient experience and logic/problem-solving capabilities to apply advanced engineering principles and techniques to propose, direct, and integrate solutions to highly complex (possibly system level), loosely defined technical problems and to identify direct approaches for the successful resolution of significant technical issues. May be required to serve as lead expert within discipline for technical problem solving.
Coordinate and integrate complex technical projects across multi-functional groups, within schedule and budget.
Lead integration and development of major technical descriptions for customer proposals.
Lead engineering work of, and instruct, train, and guide personnel on significant technical projects, tasks, and activities and provide periodic performance feedback to them.
Provide periodic updates and recommendations regarding the nature and status of work/projects to all appropriate internal and external personnel; identify and present recommendations for business growth opportunities to management. Develop and deliver presentations to communicate statuses, problem resolutions, recommendations, or promote business-related products.
Develop new or improve existing products and services using current economic studies and recent technical advancements and coordinate/prepare supporting documentation.
Provide expert knowledge within specific engineering discipline to peers, vendors, and customers.
Develop procedures, processes, and methods for implementing technical requirements.
Professional Engineer license is desirable for selected positions.Experience Requirements:

Senior position for systems engineering and functional design engineering of safety and non-safety instrumentation & control systems. Candidate will be responsible for activities including requirements engineering, analysis of plant processes, development of functional requirements for intrumentation & control systems, reliability specification, detailed control system design, data gathering and analysis. The individual will perform analysis to assess performance and to trade off designs, and will define functional requirements based upon detailed understanding of system/process operation. Participate in design reviews, requirements development, change control processes, schedule development, and cost estimation. Position spans all phases of the systems development lifecycle including requirements definition, design and development, implementation, integration and testing, deployment and maintenance. Position includes generation of functional test specifications and procedures along with hands-on execution or testing.

DESIRED SKILLS
Experience with instrumentation and control systems and nuclear power plants. Experience with DOORS requirements management tool and ACSL or Matlab desired.
