The Optical Systems Division (OSD), one of 3M's fastest growing divisions, offers multiple Vikuiti(tm) Display Enhancement solutions for the electronic display industry including transmissive displays, reflective and absorbing polarizers for LCDs and kiosk applications, high contrast projection screens and anti-reflective solutions. We are seeking an individual to provide process engineering support to 3M Optical Systems Division's manufacturing operations. The focus will be on the scale-up of new optical inspection equipment and the optimization of existing on-line inspection processes to assure manufacturing capability in the rapidly growing technology platform of microreplication. Person will provide leadership in guiding our business success through developing and optimizing effective product inspection systems & control plans for this international business. This will be accomplished by utilizing six sigma methodology, actively participating in cross functional/divisional/cultural teams and assisting in troubleshooting day-to-day production and maintenance issues when needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

-Motivated Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineer interested in manufacturing experience with high personal integrity and positive attitude. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills to manage different priorities.

-Experience with optics, image processing, inspection, and web handling strongly preferred. Must have experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving and utilizing six sigma methodology.

-Demonstrated ability to lead projects to successful, on-time completion in a safe manner as well as have the ability to be an active contributing team member. Statistics, SPC, DOE, MES, and Minitab experience are beneficial.

10% travel to US and International locations.
