- Solid state lasers have a wide variety of applications from cutting and welding metals, to eye and dental surgery, electronics, communications and defense.

Qualifications:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The main objective is to provide technical direction and lead process improvement efforts for sapphire and laser crystals in the Growth Department. Manages yield improvement, incorporates new materials into Growth processes, manage capital spending and cost reduction efforts through engineering programs. Improve Growth processes through engineering analyses and scientific problem solving methodologies. Identify the best process parameters for yield, quality and productivity.

COMPETENCIES:
Exhibits strong skills to work well in close cooperation with several disciplines. Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Quality and safety orientated. The incumbent must possess solid practical and theoretical knowledge of the complete growth process as well as related production/maintenance processes. BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
