Process Engineer - Harness Design

Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. Based in Stratford, Connecticut, USA, Sikorsky has outlying facilities in other Connecticut locations as well as in Florida and Alabama.

Responsibilities of this position include Process Design, Work Instruction Planning, and Manufacturing Support of Electrical Assemblies, Wiring Harness Assemblies and Installations. Candidates must be proficient in evaluating designs for producibility, developing tooling and manufacturing plans for Elec/Mech assembies, wiring harness assemblies and installations. Estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and submittal of proposals are additional duties. Knowledge of engineering drawings, geometric tolerances and dimensioning is also required.

The preferred candidate will possess a four-year degree in an engineering discipline. (BSEE, BSME or equivalent)

Assignments in the Harness Engineering Section require the knowledge of electrical/mechanical design practices, engineering mathematics, manufacturing practices as well as the ability to interpret equipment specifications and electrical schematics. Excellent written and oral skills as well as personal computer literacy using 3-D design tools and Microsoft Office products will be required.

Experience with aircraft wiring installations, harness design/manufacturing is a plus.
