Position Description:

Chevron Products Company (GDREF) is accepting online applications for Process Engineers (0607-50010128) to be located in Houston, Texas OR Baton Rouge, Louisiana and relocating to Pascagoula, Mississippi through August 27, 2006.

Provide process engineering support for EPCm (Engineering, Procurement and Construction management) activities for a large refinery expansion project located in Pascagoula, MS. The position will initially be located in at the engineering contractor office either in Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA. Moving to Pascagoula Refinery, the process engineer will support construction and start-up. The position requires collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to work with operations, maintenance, contract engineering and technical functions within the global refining system.

Again, the assignment will initially be located in either Houston, Texas or Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the engineering contractor office for 1-2 years. The position will then move to the Pascagoula, MS refinery for construction and start-up support.
Some travel (10-20%) is expected.
A separate posting is also open for Pascagoula Refinery process engineering support. Candidates should apply for the positions they are interested in. (It is ok to apply for both).

Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Review and approve the EPCm contractors work product.
2. Make technical recommendations, answer technical inquiries, and provide technical support for the project team.
3. Participate in the process design to ensure plant safety, reliability and economics.
4. Support initial plant commissioning and startup.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor?s degree required in Chemical Engineering.
- Relocation benefits will be considered.

- This is a safety sensitive Position.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Work Experience and Job Knowledge: Minimum 3 years experience in petroleum refining is desirable. Capital project support experience is desirable. Must be able to understand and use appropriate process engineering tools. Knowledge of simulation software is desired as well as a good working knowledge of the standard desktop applications especially Excel.

Initiative/Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with the ability to originate and adapt to new ideas. Able to work with limited supervision. Ability to step up and take ownership of specific team efforts. Able to proactively champion technical issues and see them through to completion.

Planning/Organization: Able to plan and organize projects from inception to start up. Able to handle multiple activities simultaneously.

Communication/Teamwork Skills: Good written and oral communication skills. Strong ability to work well with other disciplines and groups on the project and at the refinery. Facilitates dialogue and possesses strong listening skills. Able to communicate technical ideas to a wide range of groups. Creates and promotes an environment of trust and teamwork through actions and own behaviors.
