Process Engineer Senior

Hanover is seeking a Process Engineer Senior for our Houston, TX location. This position will be responsible for the following:Fully proficient in all major aspects of process design, proposal preparation, project development, and project execution related to natural gas production, treating, and processing equipment and facilitiesExtensive background in conceptual design, process simulation, PFD and P&ID development, equipment design, sizing, specification, and selection, system hydraulic design, bid preparation, PHA/HAZOP review, operator training, plant start-up, troubleshooting, and performance testingEnsures process systems are designed and engineered to meet customer?s requirements in a technically efficient and commercially viable mannerWorks closely with Project Managers assigned to the project to ensure that scope of supply and design parameters are clear and well definedWorks with the drafters to assure that the drafting requirements and design intent of the project are met. Must work closely with each of our Gulf Coast facilities, Project Management, Project Engineering, and Manufacturing. Includes travel requirements to ensure coordination and communication of project requirementsAssists applications engineers on technical issues related to preparation of proposals and evaluates equipment performance to assure the best application is metObtains and evaluates vendor quotations covering vendor inquiries and preparing lowest evaluated vendor costsAssists in resolution of field problems and warranty claims, assesses field and shop recommendations on unit design, and participates in implementing efficient corrections that reduce operational problemsAssures timely engineering effort is maintained by performing project engineering functions including vendor inquiry preparation, vendor bid analysis and vendor selection, prepare process and auxiliary system mechanical flow diagramsProvides engineering calculations for complete heat and material balances, line sizing for all systems, equipment sizing including hydraulic level specification, retention and settling times, PFD and P&ID developmentProvides engineering to evaluate customer comments on approval drawings for technical and commercial content additions and supports each facility fabrication and shop questions during assembly of equipmentWorks with manufacturing during fabrication and provides support to field personnel during on-site field checkout and commissioning of equipmentConfers with manufacturing and drafting to prepare design modifications as requiredProvides guidance and instruction to junior level engineers
Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering desired
Specific Work Background/Experience:
Required:
Eight to twelve years related experience and/or training
Desired:
Eight to twelve years engineering and design experience with natural gas production, treating, and processing equipment and facilities including:
-Oil and Gas Separation
-Dehydration (molecular sieve, TEG, ethylene glycol and methanol injection)
-Acid gas treating (MEA, DEA, DGA, MDEA, formulated amines)
-Gas desulphurization (Sulfa Treat?, PURASPEC?, molecular sieve)
-Hydrocarbon dew point control (straight refrigeration units, J-T units, refrigerated J-T units)
-Natural gas liquids recovery (low temperature separation units, turbo-expander plants)
-Fractionation (demethanizers, deethanizers, depropanizers, debutanizers, condensate stabilizers)
-Liquid hydrocarbon treating (amine, molecular sieve, caustic)
