Process Engineering Consultant

This position can be located anywhere in the continental US and requires up to 80% travel.

JOB SUMMARY:
1. Actively participates in high-performing clinical service line consulting teams.
2. Contributes process re-engineering skills and perspectives to consulting projects.
3. Uses methodologies, tools and techniques to improve effectiveness of deliverables and efficiency of deliverable preparation.
4. Develops and maintains effective customer relationships.
5. Actively seeks McKesson product and methodology training opportunities to add value to customer clinical service line consulting engagements.
6. Develops new and valuable competencies, including project management competency.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
1. Seeks out membership in customer engagements based on ability to contribute.
2. Maintains 70% utilization goal,* or as individually assigned.
3. Participates in engagement planning and/or delivery.
4. Performs responsibilities as assigned by engagement manager; however, discusses own limitations and seeks appropriate assistance.
5. Structures and develops work products/deliverables (including written and verbal presentations) that meet established quality standards and expectations set by engagement manager, potentially using knowledge resources of CCS and Company.
6. Displays project management skills (including competency with Microsoft Project), as individually specified; tracks and reports progress against plan.
7. Identifies and documents risks and issues, and ensures prompt and appropriate resolution; effectively communicates with engagement manager on activities and tasks assigned, on risks and issues that arise during the engagement.
8. Effectively manages work papers.
9. Works effectively and shows leadership skills with customer representatives, mostly as a planner and facilitator of activities required for the success of the engagement.
10. Potentially, makes presentations at appropriate level in customer organization (middle management).
11. Develops strong and recognized relationships with customers as a byproduct of engagement work.
12. Identifies and validates (on preliminary basis) opportunities for add-on work; communicates these to engagement manager.
13. Works effectively with resource manager; identifies personal growth challenges and opportunities, structures performance plan, and seeks coaching accordingly; seeks opportunities to develop task competency and methodology understanding/proficiency; seeks opportunities to stretch current capabilities through observation and/or active participation for such activities as analyses, proposals, or presentations.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
1. Demonstrated competency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
2. Demonstrated competency in work flow and process mapping documentation.
3. General understanding of services management related to the healthcare industry.
4. Position can be remote. Requires the ability to travel 80% - 100%.
5. Education/Training: Bachelor?s degree with emphasis in Process or Industrial Engineering and/or healthcare services or commensurate experience. Masters in Industrial Engineering (Health Systems emphasis preferred).
6. Experience: Depending on level, typically requires two to six years experience in industrial healthcare management, process engineering, information systems, clinical practice, or business administration.
7. Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2. Demonstrated familiarity with process and operational design
3. Experience with SixSigma, LEAN, and other process improvement methodologies preferred
4. Excellent data collection and analysis skills
5. Experience in one or more McKesson Provider Technologies product areas a plus
6. Experience with clinical information systems preferredAdditional Knowledge & Skills
