Job Description:

Will be responsible for the manufacturing process in his/her area of responsibility. This also includes providing cost effective "build instructions" for products, identification of required tooling and equipment, preparation of capital requests, etc. Will provide direction to coordinate the activities of support groups related to production support. Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives such as cost and process improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

Development, coordination and execution of cost reduction and process improvement programs aimed at increased profitability and improved product quality



Support manufacturing process and electromechanical temperature control families



Development of cost estimates, capital equipment requisitions, process specifications and tooling/fixture design



Deliver written and oral technical presentations



Produce accurate documents



Ability to make decisions regarding scrap and rework



Train manufacturing personnel



 

Education/Experience

Bachelor's of Science in Engineering



Minimum of five years experience as a Manufacturing/Design Engineer in a high volume industry



Familiarity with strength and materials and material science



Knowledge of standard measurement practices and tools



Experience with material selection processes



Knowledge of statistics, base electrical circuitry, and experimental design methodologies



PC literate



Good Project managerial and organizational skills



Excellent written and oral communication skills
