Process Quality Assurance Engineer

General Summary:   Directs the maintenance and improvement of product quality and productive/efficient process flow.  Provides technical assistance to RDC and customers as needed.

 

Essential Functions:

 

1)  Addresses any die casting product issues in house and at the customer.

2)  Establish and achieve goals for one or some products.

3)  Develop plans for achieving goals to analyze current condition.

4)  Attend monthly meeting and report results and action progresses.

5)  Writes End-of-Run Die Maintenance Request for the responsible products

6)  Works with customers to develop trust and reliable partnerships.

7)  Conducts die refurbishment and ordering schedule.

8)  Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

9)  Guides and directs Process Techs as needed.

10)  Assists in the process and quality training of RDC Personnel.

 

Marginal Functions:



 

?  Conducts and writes 8-D reports.

?  Visits customer plants as needed.

?  Develops, trains, and directs quality methods and practices.

 

Minimum Qualifications:



 

1)  Bachelor of Science in Engineering or,

2)  Some college or technical school coursework and a minimum 3 years die cast industry experience, or equivalent work experience

3)  Working knowledge of Blue Print reading and interpretation.

4)  Use of standard measurement hand tools

5)  Good interpersonal skills.

 



Working Conditions:

 

?  Plant conditions, including exposure to dirt, noise, fumes and cleaning chemicals

?  Regular exposure to extreme heat

?  Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs.

?  Frequent walking and standing

?  Normal office conditions about 50% of the time

 

Supervision Received:

 

Minimal day-to-day supervision, assigned specific tasks and projects by Senior PQA, Engineer or PQA Manager and broad goals, objectives to accomplish.

 

Supervision Exercised:

 

No direct supervisory responsibility.
