Process Technology Engineer

Beta Steel Corp is currently seeking candidates for a Process Technology Engineer for Primary Operations for its plant located in Portage IN.

Primary responsibilities of the Process Technology Engineer include: Develops new practices for melting, secondary refining, and casting and modifying current practices for improved quality and costWorks with Manager, Supervisors and crews to understand and evaluate changes to metallurgical and operating practicesDevelops reports of studies and evaluations and present results to all levels of Management and bargaining unit personnelWorks with hot strip mill personnel and customers to evaluate practice changes on final coil qualityInvestigates quality issues with respect to primary operating practices and conditions Develops continuous improvement plans to reduce costs and improve quality and reliability.Trains salaried and bargaining unit personnel in standard practices and changes to practicesWorks with operating personnel and contractors to measure, evaluate, and modify standard charging and operating practices and calculates impact of raw material changes on primary operations, cost, and quality Must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordMust be excellent communicator since work environment includes all areas of Beta Steel Corp and customers

Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science with a minimum of two years experience in metals and/or other materials processing.
