Procurement Quality Engineer

Leach International, a subsidiary of Esterline Technologies, is a leader in the design, engineering and manufacture of electro mechanical, solid state and electronic relays, voltage regulating devices, contactors, switches and power distribution assemblies for the aircraft and aerospace industries. Headquartered in Buena Park, CA, we have business and manufacturing operations in the US and in Mexico. We currently have an immediate need for a Procurement Quality Engineer.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Perform vendor audits, maintain vendor approval files, and interface with purchasing to ensure flow down of quality requirements to vendors.

 

PREREQUISITE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

BSME/BSEE or BS in Industrial Technology (ASQC-CQE Certification acceptable in lieu of degree)

 

5-7 years in Quality discipline areas of Engineering and Vendor control.

 

Must be familiar with MIL-Q9858, ISO90041 and MIL-STD-1535.

 

Experience performing audits of vendor facilities.

PC literate

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Prepare, write and revise QAP?s and QAI?s that apply to control of purchases.

 

Perform vendor audits and maintain vendor files.

 

Maintain and revise Approved Vendor List.

 

Review purchase orders to ensure flow down of quality requirements.

 

Maintain and revise Quality Program Provisions (QPP?s).

 

Develop and maintain vendor-rating system.

 

Instruct vendors on how to meet minimum Leach quality requirements when necessary.

 

Actively participates in the Quality Improvement System.

 

Performs other duties as required.
