Product Design Technician B

Perform engineering, technical support and administrative duties, which require the planning, layout, analysis and verification of engineering data and information utilizing computers and engineering programs.
1. Assist in the preparation of test and product specifications, and drawings following established guidelines. Create drawings, charts, and spreadsheets as necessary using various computer techniques.

2. Perform mathematical calculations and data reduction, summarizing into written or graphic form, which may involve the use of data handling facilities and understanding of algebraic, trigonometric, calculus and/or computer based data reduction capabilities.

3. Assemble and verify sketches, graphs, drawings and reports for transmittal to customers, suppliers or company personnel. Prepare letters and/or fact sheets relative to technical information being supplied to ensure proper understanding and utilization.

4. Gather and formulate data and information, which may require research of test reports, specification requirements, technical manuals and books.

5. Prepare input data for design computer codes.

6. Assist in the modification of existing computer programs as instructed.

Engineering Personnel - Frequent - Receive work assignments, receive and supply information relative to assigned task.

Interdepartmental - Frequent - receive, supply, and interpret information and data.

Customers - Occasional - Obtain and furnish information and data.

High school or the equivalent plus two year technical training in an engineering curriculum which includes specific math (i.e., algebra, trigonometry, and calculus) and computer related course work.

Minimum of two years experience in a specifically related area. An additional year of post high school technical education may be substituted for one year of experience.

Must have experience in SolidWorks. Certified SolidWorks Professional and knowledge of GD&T are preferred. Satisfactory score on the drawing demonstration is required.
