PRODUCT DESIGNER

AKG, a leading global manufacturer of heat exchanger products seeks a Product Designer.  This position will work in a customer focused, team-based environment to produce CAD models, engineering drawings and part specifications for heat exchanger systems for OEM customers.  A successful candidate is highly competent with solid modeling and can properly appropriate apply drafting standards to all internal engineering documentation. This position also requires the utilization of an ERP system to maintain bills of material and general part information. A candidate must be able to complete engineering calculations such as weights, volumes and stresses. It is required that the successful candidate be able to work as a part of a cross-functional team to coordinate the most efficient design and manufacturing approach to manufacturing products and can employee a formal product releasing and ECN system. It is essential that the candidate be familiar with metal fabrication methods, welding and mechanical assembly techniques.  Familiarity with internal combustion engines and fluid power systems is also highly desirable.

Minimum qualifications are a minimum of five years of practical work experience as a designer/drafter in a manufacturing environment. An Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or Drafting or comparable work experience is also required. Experience with SolidWorks, Pro-E or Unigraphics and Visual Manufacturing is a plus
