Product Development Engineer - Optical

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for the development
of new products for an optical sensor product line. This position will also
provide support to current SpO2 product line, which includes re-usable and disposable spO2 medical sensors and also an X-ray product line which includes X-ray detectors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to concept development, product design, product performance
verification and validation, production specification and transfer to manufacturing. Candidate must
be able to work in a team environment and be able to communicate clearly across all disciplines. May lead small project teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop Optical products which typically consists of an LED/Photodiode sensor assembly.
Provide product support activities on existing SpO2 and X-ray product lines.
Conduct development engineering activities related to future new products.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of Plastic Part Design and Electromechanical Product Development with 2-D AutoCAD and 3-D solidwork packages.
Knowledge in design of optical components such as LED and Photodiode, experience in designing SpO2 (pulse Oximetry) sensors, both disposable and reusable sensors,  knowledge in FDA 510K Protocol preferred, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education required: BS or MS Engineering (BIOMEDICAL, Mechanical, Electrical)
Experience: 4- 8 Years

 

SALARY RANGE:

 

Salary commensurate upon education and experience.
