Position Description:
Chevron is accepting applications for Production, Simulation and Reservoir Engineers located in Midland and Houston TX, Calgary and St. Johns Canada, Bakersfield CA, Lafayette and New Orleans LA, and Wyoming through Dec 31, 2006.
Chevron ranks as the largest producer of oil and gas on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf and in California. It is active in exploration and production across North America, particularly in California, Texas, the Gulf of Mexico and Canada.
-Reservoir and Simulation Engineers make use of the latest analytical techniques to understand well and reservoir behavior on rock parameters, geology and fluid properties. Reservoir simulation models will incorporate quality control and fundamental reservoir engineering data for history matching and production forecasting.
-Production Engineers are involved in the full life-cycle of field development - from conceptual design through to the production phase and eventually abandonment. Production Engineers specialize in reservoir surveillance and production system optimization, evolving development concepts and contributing to well completions.
-Project Engineers plan, implement and monitor delivery of Capital projects rejuvenating and growing the business. Project engineers are responsible for implementation of Chevron's Project Development and Execution Process, a structured method to achieve optimum investment decisions, as well as for the work practices to achieve the efficient and successful delivery of projects.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Reservoir Simulation Assignments: (Minimum of 1-3 years reservoir simulation experience preferred, or strong desire to develop reservoir simulation skills): Construct, history match, and run reservoir simulation models ranging in size from single-well models to large full-field models. Gather, analyze, and prepare reservoir property, well, and production data for simulator input. Assist with analyzing geologic data used to develop the Earth Model for simulation.
Reservoir Engineering Assignments: (Minimum of 3-5 years reservoir engineering experience preferred): Experience to have included: reserves and production forecasting (decline curves, rate transient analysis, volumetrics, material balance, simulation), field development planning (identifying development drilling locations, well spacing analysis, assist with well completions and evaluations, economics), other reservoir management activities (analyzing pressure and production data, reservoir surveillance, collaboration with production engineers and earth scientists), and Enhanced Oil Recovery experience.
Production Engineering Assignments: (Minimum of 3-5 years experience preferred) Ability to develop and respond to production enhancing opportunities. Specific competencies include opportunity identification, reservoir characterization, development planning, production forecasting, reservoir surveillance planning, artificial lift management, remedial wellwork operations, well stimulations, completions experience and economic analysis.
Interpersonal and Teamwork Skills: Self starter with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team.
Hardware/Software Skills. Working knowledge of interpretation, modeling and engineering software depending on assignment. Or, able to rapidly learn and develop high level of proficiency in critical areas.
Experience in secondary, tertiary, and major capital projects.
