JOB TITLE: Sr. Project Engineer

 

LOCATION:  Tampa

 

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt

 

REPORTS TO:  Chief Operating Officer

 

SUMMARY:  Super-Regional Homebuilder and Developer seeking ?jack of all trades? Civil Engineer with a demonstrated background in land development.  Must be able to handle all aspects of site development engineering for small subdivisions, multi-family and commercial development. The Civil Engineer/Designer will provide for the accurate and timely completion of the technical aspects of engineering projects through the performance of engineering functions and the coordination of the efforts of computer-aided drafting. Direct CAD drafting experience a must.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

?  Act as central design figure on civil engineering team for land development projects. Work with the COO and or Land Development Director to prepare accurate cost estimates and ensure timely site construction completion.

?  Ensure quality of design and implement new ideas through supervision, participation, plan reviews.

?  Prepare engineering calculations, reports, permit applications and specifications for each land development project.

?  Coordinate with the design team to develop site construction plans and specifications

?  Monitor activities during the site construction of the project.

?  This person is expected to be proficient with engineering design and drafting software.

?  Responsibilities include engineering design from site feasibility analysis, planning, and final design services.

?  Field visits and local travel may be required.

  QUALIFICATIONS: 

?  Experience should include drainage design, utility designs, stormwater management, regulatory permitting and design of mixed use, small commercial or residential developments and subdivisions

?  Microsoft Project experience a plus.  Bilingual a plus.

?  Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work on a minimum of 10-12 projects in different phases of development.

?  Qualifications include BSCE, and a minimum of 3-5 years current experience.

?  Florida PE Licensure required.

?  Required proficiency in AutoCAD 2005 version.

 

5 measures of Success (Scorecard):

 Prepare first draft initial site plans consistently within 1 week of survey completion. Address all initial site plan and full construction site plan requirements with only one submission rejection for a jurisdiction acceptable. Show strong creativity to maximize density and minimize site development costs as judged by COO. +/- 5% accuracy onsite development budget/estimate to actual costs in each project. Compete each site development approval project.
