Job Description: Program Manager: PDP, TDP for Neurovascular Stents and Embolization Coils

Leading new product development from technology through launch of innovative medical devices


JOB PURPOSE:
A Project Management position is the key role to form/lead cross-functional teams (and across geographies) through scoping/planning, costing, development, and commercialization activities to produce innovative medical device products in accordance with Boston Scientifics' Technology and Product Development Processes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leading all processes of project management (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing) to develop medical device products and possibly the underlying technology. This includes

Leading the cross-functional team in the development of the Integrated Business Plan and Project Contract and garnering management approval for them

Defining realistic project goals, objectives, and metrics in a highly matrixed organization

Identifying and garnering the necessary resources to execute the project

Managing risk (identification, contingency and mitigation planning/management)

Communicating with all levels of management and throughout the organization(s)

Leading activities to resolve issues and reach effective decisions in a timely manner

Driving execution of project deliverables through others and self, ensuring that the products and project deliverables meet rigorous standards of quality

As part of the leadership team, energizing co-workers by clearly positioning how the project will benefit target patients, relentlessly promulgating excellent teamwork and dedication to high standards of quality, and aligning the team to support overall business objectives and make sound business decisions at a project/portfolio level in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree (engineering/technical) with 10 years experience in an engineering or technical field (including at least 5 years in new product development), or equivalent. Medical device industry experience, preferred.

Five years experience in project management including demonstrated experience in all project management processes. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred. Breadth across various product development life cycles (for example, hardware/device, firmware/software, electromechanical systems, drug development), a plus.

o Knowledge of development life cycles and project management tools
o Ability to build, energize, and lead teams formed from a cross-functional, matrixed organization and promote teamwork
o Ability to lead groups, including engineers and scientists, in technical risk analysis, problem solving and decision making
o Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organization
o High performance in personal abilities: commitment to task, tolerance of ambiguity
o Effective written communication skills
o Commitment to quality for own and team deliverables


Experience in developing products requiring regulatory approvals and leading projects including pre-clinical/clinical activities, preferred.
