Project Administrator

The Project Administrator will assist the Director, Codes & Standards (C&S) Technology as required with project management and administration of assigned projects related to standards technology.  Primary functions of the Project Administrator include managing the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned projects as C&S Development staff continues to expand its support of the ASME Standards Technology, LLC (ASME ST-LLC).  ASME ST-LLC will meet the needs of industry and government by providing new standards-related products and services, which advance the application of scientific and technological development.

 

The Project Administrator will report to and assist the Director, C&S Technology with management of the scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects; assist the Manager, Technology Development, with preparation of proposals to prospective customers and solicitations for potential subcontractors; and assist the Manager, Business Development with globalization initiatives.  The Project Administrator will directly interface with ASME staff, volunteers, customers, and subcontractors, and participate on ASME cross-functional project teams, as assigned by the Director, C&S Technology.

 

This position will also assist the Director, C&S Technology, with growth of the ASME ST-LLC, which is intended to respond to industry and government needs through implementation of projects related to newly commercialized technology including, but not limited to, supporting ASME standards committees by performing the research and development necessary to maintain the technical relevance of codes and standards and enabling the incorporation of newly commercialized technology into new or existing ASME codes and standards. Projects will also include pre-standardization guidance and best practice documents, and pursuit of government and industry sponsorship to advance the application of scientific and technological developments.

 

Project management and administration functions will include development of project scope statements, schedules, and budgets for proposed projects, coordination and active participation in project meetings, and assistance with subcontracting, including preparation of solicitations.

 

Ideal applicant will have a technical/engineering degree, at least 5 years experience in an industry served by ASME C&S, ability to interface effectively with cross-functional organizations, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, and commitment.  Applicant must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Codes and standards experience a plus.
