Reports To: Regional Program Development Manager

Supervises: Team of 4-6 Project Development Engineers?

Primary Responsibilities

1.?? Manages and oversees high level mechanical engineering analysis of buildings.? Must demonstrate high performance system design experience in the mechanical HVAC field.?

2.???Manages mechanical construction cost estimates at all phases of HVAC design, and leads the detailed mechanical design work for simultaneous projects with aggressive design and installation schedules.?? A working knowledge of other portions of?MEP work?as well as fire and security, communication, etc. desirable.?

3.???Manages and develops an assigned Project Development Team to a high utilization.

4.???Reviews elements of the solutions as prepared by the Project Development Team.? Reviews risk analysis for the portfolio of projects.

5.???Directs the efforts of the Project Development Team to provide specific functional and technical expertise, including presentation assistance, estimating, technical and financial analysis, etc. Leads the integration between project development, solution development and operations.

6.???Implements JCI's standardized tools and processes.? Establishes, tracks and reports various performance metrics.

7.???Provides team with industry knowledge, and leverages Field applications and best practices.? Directs the Team in developing and maintaining competitively advantaged "Best Practices", analyses, current competitive information and profiles, and effective presentations and proposals.

8.???Provides Field and customer feedback to Program Development leadership or Marketing for new offerings and existing offering enhancements.? Provides similar information to Global Learning Services (GLS) for product training needs.

9.???Ensures that the workload is properly allocated within the team and provides support for peak workload.? Reviews manpower levels, providing manpower forecasts and plans.? Supports other geographic areas by sharing resources.

10.?Responsible for attracting, retaining and developing Project Development Team members. Sets goals and objectives for individual team members consistent with the goals and objectives of the Program Development organization.? Provides regular performance feedback and conducts formal annual performance appraisals.

Other Duties:

???? Responsible for representing Johnson Controls, Inc. in local community and state? organizations, i.e. AEE.

???? Responsible for remaining current with engineering standards and practices.

? ?? Responsible for the promotion of and adherence to JCI safety policies.

???? Performs other related duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related field, MBA or other appropriate graduate degree desirable.? Requires eight or more years of engineering or selling building-related systems or services.? Specifically, 5-10 years of experience with plan and specification issuance as well as mechanical construction installation experience in commercial buildings highly desirable.? Experience managing teams of 4-6 people desirable.? Registered Professional Engineer, Masters in Business Administration, or Advanced Engineering degree highly recommended.? Proven leadership skills and experience in managing a technical team requiring multi-project management skills.? Strong process orientation and development skills with the ability to motivate subordinates.? Strong planning and organization skills.? Experience in recruiting and developing people.? Previous exposure to facility operations and cost accounting desirable. Excellent business analysis capabilities.? Strong Project Management skills are necessary.? Formal report writing experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. Possesses solid working knowledge of common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, etc.). Travel approximately 25%.
