Project Engineer ? Celina, TX

GenTek Inc is a technology-driven manufacturer of performance chemicals and industrial components. We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Project Engineer for its Performance Products Chemicals Division based at our facility in Denver, Colorado. In this role you will prepare and execute completion of fixed capital projects under plant and Corporate control. As well as provide technical engineering support as required for other departments or plants within the Water Chemicals network. All these critical projects will need to be handled with minimum supervision.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare or direct proposed fixed capital projects including proposal write-up, justification, estimate, general specifications, preliminary engineering, and overall project schedules. Prepare or direct all phases of the engineering plans for approved projects including supervision of drafting, design of equipment as required; preparation of material and equipment specification; requisitioning of materials; preparation of contract bid specifications; expediting of all phases including completion on schedule. Prepare or direct alternatives and cost analysis for various projects. Prepare or direct sketches and drawings as required in addition to or in conjunction with those prepared by designer. Supervise field construction of all projects under his control. Resolve design and installation problems. Supervise junior Engineers in all phases of engineering work. Follow and control costs of all projects under his control. Meet set deadlines on project preparation and construction completion. Use PC to assist in preparing A/R?s designs and reports. Provide, as assigned, technical consultation and assistance to locations during design and construction phases of projects. Prepare investigations and special studies as directed. Handle special and critical projects dictated by his/her experience and senior status. Prepare start-up manuals and spare parts lists for new projects. Prepare fixed capital and Engineering budgets as directed. Design safety into all jobs as required. Implementation compliance with all applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies on assigned projects. Control compliance with safety regulations during construction. Indoctrinate contractors into plant rules and Right-To-Know.

Position Requirements



This position requires a B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with a minimum of 5 years Engineering experience in a process plant or equivalent. Must exhibit technical competence with the ability to write clear reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required along with good computer skills. The position does require travel within the US and Canada of up to 50% as required
