Project Engineer - Energy Solutions

AMERESCO currently holds opportunities for Professional Engineers to lead the final design, construction and successful implementation of energy efficiency and conservation projects. These positions are located in the Albany, Long Island, and New York City areas of New York.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Evaluate customers? building infrastructure; identify and implement energy efficiency and conservation opportunities.  Gather key project details: utility data, facility profiles, site drawings, system operating characteristics. Visit customer project sites to assess and document mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems.Investigate, analyze, and document energy conservation and water cost reduction measures.  Conduct detailed engineering analysis including baseline profiles, end-use analysis, and retro fit analysis.Provide guidance for facilities regarding operation and maintenance of mechanical HVAC systems, including coordination of sub-contracted maintenance activities, energy analysis and cost estimating.Develop and present technical content, proposals, analysis, and feasibility reports.  Participate in peer review for engineering analyses, project costing, proposals, and reports. Perform other duties as required.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:BSEE, BSME or energy-related degree PLUS minimum 2 years technical facility engineering experience.Direct experience with facility operations, maintenance, and optimal energy efficiency of boiler and chiller plants, HVAC distribution and control systems, or distributed generation projects.Demonstrated knowledge of building energy consumption and efficiency principles, including ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, consumption, and savings projections.Experience with measurement and verification, project cost accounting, and estimating desirable. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.Financial planning and budget experience, with ability to develop a business case desirable.  Solid verbal, written, computer communication and presentation skills required.  Professional registration and/or CEM desirable.  Valid Drivers? License issued by state of residence and in good standing.  U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.May be required to pass security clearance investigation. Travel up to 70% per week required.
