Project Engineer - Sintering

Adecco Engineering & Technical is currently recruiting a Sintering Engineer for a tier 1 automotive supplier in Sunbury, OH, just north of Columbus, OH.

-Duration: full-time permanent placement position.

-Salary / Payrate: TBD

-Relocation: assistance may be provided for this position.

-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Resolving daily production equipment concerns.
? Participate in Process Improvement activities (PIA Teams).
? Implement continuous improvements within cross functional teams.
? Report status of pending products to PE Manager and must be capable of meeting deadlines.
? Must be willing to work extended hours as needed, including Saturdays and Sundays. Must be flexible as needed to cover 2nd shift operation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? 4-year degree preferred in area of mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or metallurgical engineering.
? 2 - 4 years experience within the automotive industry required with preferred experience in Japanese based companies (familiarity with lean mfg. methods, high volume production, etc.)
? Previous knowledge/experience in area of powdered metal with a strong focus on compression molding / sintering process. Experience in machining / post treatment of powdered metals is a strong plus.
? Knowledge and understanding of powdered metal properties / characteristics. Should understand basic properties of material selection along with proper processing requirements.
? Strong analytical background in process defects and proper corrective actions required in day to day production. Experience preferred in die selection / design. Experience a must in process development and maturation of 40 ? 60 ton press ranges. Candidate needs to have hands on working knowledge of process with ability to interpret and correct processing issues. Good experience is required in the areas of increasing process efficiencies and scrap reduction efforts.
? Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and must be able to maintain project records and documentation.
? Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods highly desirable.
? This is a hands-on position involved in ongoing production floor activities. Ideal candidate will come from a maintenance or machine builder background.
