The Project Engineer will need to perform implant and instrument design work as well as actively participate on, and sometimes lead, a multifunctional team to advance assigned projects through the design /development process and ultimately through launch into the market.Modeling and detailing of implant and instrumentation designs utilizing the PRO E design software.Setting the direction and managing the work flow of other engineers within the scope of assigned projects.Development of prototypes for design verification and validation.Interfacing with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new product.Utilization / Management of the Design Controls (NPDP).Technical report writing.Active participation on, and at times leading, crossfunctional design teams to develop new product as well as address design issues / maintenance of existing ones.Learn all aspects of the surgical procedure in order to develop innovative solutions to solve / satisfy customer needs.Develop and manage project plans and time lines within the scope of the NPDP guidelines.Establishing and maintaining relationships with the key design consulting group in order to recognize and anticipate industry trends and user needs.QUALIFICATIONS:
2 + years of product design experience in the medical device industry or equivalent.Familiarity with design controls within a regulated industry.Prior work experience in the medical device industry desired.Self-starters, have a hands-on approach and capability to work independently.Experience with a parametric CAD design package. PRO E preferred.EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree in a Science, with a Masters Degree in a technical or management discipline preferred. Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
