Project Engineering Manager

POSITION SUMMARY :   Provides input into the selection of vendors and new processing equipment that is required for the successful completion of new programs.  The Engineering Analyst, Cost Estimating Department and the Project Engineers report to the Project Engineering Manager.





 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Must be proficient in project management, moldmaking, estimating, injection molding, secondary decorating and assembly techniques.  Should be familiar with both automotive and non-automotive customers.  The Project Engineering Manager provides input into the selection of vendors and new processing equipment that is required for the successful completion of new programs.  Supports the Sales Department in early Supplier involvement programs, this also includes customer calling.  Responsible for all financial records associated with the opening and closing of new jobs, and works on cost reductions for new and existing programs.  Co-signs on all of the Tool Room expenditures related to open jobs. Follow all general, safety and environmental policies and procedures.  Supports the Directors of Engineering in any new projects or activities he may assign.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Mandatory

 

AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE with INJECTION MOLDING EXPERIENCE

 

College degree in related field with 5 years experience

Blue Print Reading

 Desired

 

Gage & fixture design, tops or related problem solving skills

Time management, team building and interpersonal skills training

Computer Software including Microsoft Word, Lotus or Excel, Microsoft Project

PPAP, fundamentals of GD&T, PFMEA, DFMEA, DOE (Taguchi or Other), QFD, DFM, APQP,

Secondary assembly/decorating operations, basic tooling

Internal mainframe training, estimating experience, and assembly experience

Working knowledge of tool shop equipment, time studies, profit and loss experience

Plastic processing knowledge and plastics materials knowledge
