Project Engineering Positions for Bulk Materials Handling Projects

Our Denver office has immediate needs for Project Engineers who are experienced in aspects of bulk material handling equipment, such as is found in the open-pit mining, coal terminals, and cement industries. This technical position requires current hands-on experience with power and control systems design.

This Hinz office has been servicing the Rocky Mountain Region for 14 years. We continue to experience solid market growth, and are looking for personnel who are experienced in Power, Control, PLC, HMI, Network, and Communications design.

We are located in a new Hinz-owned building in Highlands Ranch (southwest corner of Denver), one of the fastest growing suburban areas of the US. The office is quickly accessible to major freeways and transportation arteries. Our Bulk Materials Handling project work includes the follow process aspects:

? Overland conveyors

? Tube conveyors

? Ship loaders and unloaders

? Stackers

? Reclaimers

? Excavators

? Crushers

? Circular storage systems

? Bulk storage and retrieval systems

? Product bins

Candidates must be familiar with a wide range of aspects of electrical and controls design for the bulk materials handling industry, including the following:

? General principles of equipment operation

? Design of single line diagrams

? Design for P&ID?s, electrical and instrumentation interconnections, system layout, system design, etc.

? Familiarity with electrical equipment

? Design of safe electrical systems

? Low voltage and medium voltage design

? Familiarity with variable frequency drives

? Familiarity with soft starters

? Familiarity with electrical standards such as NEC and IEC

? Generalist skills in both PLC and HMI configuration

? Field troubleshooting and commissioning skills for large bulk materials handling equipment

? SmartPlant, Intools Electrical / Instrumentation knowledge

 

Successful Hinz technical personnel posses a wide range of the following capabilities:

? Current experience with electrical system design, instrumentation, PLC systems, HMI configuration, instrumentation and power distribution for a variety of materials handling systems.

? Ability to lead, motivate, and work within a technical team environment

? Ability to apply the latest technologies and methodologies to the design stages at the onset of the project, by applying independent thinking and visionary design

? Ability and willingness to execute projects according to a Hinz defined Project Execution Methodology

? Proficiency with customer interface, fiscal responsibility, and adherence to project schedule, budget and manpower planning.

? Structured control system design experience, with a structured approach to problem solving and project execution

? Organizational and time management skills

? Proficiency in both written and oral communication

? Proficiency with computer operating systems, networks and electronic information handling

? Proficiency with a variety of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, Visio, Projects, and PowerPoint

? Attention to detail, a healthy work ethic, and the ambition to grow within our company.

Five or more years of related experience are required. An engineering degree would be a benefit, but not a requirement.

Applicants must have superior oral and written communications skills in English. Knowledge of German would be beneficial, but not necessary.
