Project Engineers - Auto OEM Product Development

Our client, a leading tier one automotive OEM, is seeking several project engineers for the product development function. IN this position you will be responsible for leading the new product development and launch function including:

 Planning and coordination of new product launch and modifications to existing products including control of project spending Create and maintain product documents such as DFMEA, Design Review, and BOMs. Insure compliance with specification.  Provide specification creation, review and validation testing. Insure adequate project communications including project metrics such as CPAR spending, task completion, and D&D spending.

 

 The preferred candidate will have a 4 year technical degree and several years good project engineering Experience in an automotive or OEM environment. Must have FMEA, DFMA, PPAP skills using AIAG formats.  Should be familiar with CTS QS9000 procedures.  Broad knowledge of product design is required. 8-D or equivalent problem solving skills, DOE product test analysis and QS9000 knowledge is required. Product piece part make vs. buy decision experiences also necessary. Microsoft Office software knowledge is also required, including Project with Kepner-Tregoe project management technique preferred. Effective customer communication is essential, especially pertaining to specification negotiation.  Written and verbal skills essential for providing necessary direction to core team and peripheral staff. Travel to customers and manufacturing sites is required.  Foreign language competence is an attractive plus.
