Project Manager - NASA/Hardware/Schedule 45-50 $/hr

Requirements: High school education and at least 10 years experience with exposure to logistics, production control, and engineering environments is required. Individual must have technical knowledge of existing aerospace tools and crew aids. Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access, and other custom programs as required to fulfill job responsibilities

Responsibilities: Leading Aerospace Engineering Company is searching for two Project Coordinators to assist in coordinating complex engineering projects as required to meet schedules and budgets. Day-to-day activities will require close coordination with internal functional groups such as Manufacturing, Quality, Inspection, Production Control, Logistics, as well as external Customers. Individual errors will directly affect, to a significant degree, the overall pace of production, or overall cost of programs/products. The Project Coordinator will report to a Project Manager. Individual must be familiar with design requirements various EVA tool & crew aid specifications, and fabrication tolerance practices. Must have a broad understanding of Government Specifications ranging from COTS hardware (screws, nuts, washers, etc.), raw materials, pre machining processes, and post machining processes. Must be able to read, interpret, and prepare drawings, assembly procedures, service requests, NASA TPSs, disposition DRs, and other paper work required to process flight hardware. Must understand product flow throughout design, fabrication, assembly, and acceptance testing phases of a project. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with all disciplines. Duties and Responsibilities Include: Act as liaison between inter-company functional departments, other product teams, and at times NASA and other Contractors. Organize and issue Service Requests; Monitor progress of work in shops. Develop, maintain and coordinate project schedules using MS Project and report status to Program and Project Managers. Provide engineering support to Project Managers including but not limited to writing assembly and test procedures, writing Purchase Requisitions, coordinating and conducting hardware acceptance tests, and ensuring timely hardware deliveries. Maintain various logs such as procurement status, and miscellaneous lists prioritizing activities for Program Manager. Mentor new engineers on internal processes and good practices as they cross functional groups (e.g., quality engineering and inspection liaison, production control service request submittal and tracking, expediting rapid response activities). Provide and gather back up information to support the development of bids, proposals, and ROMs. Provide engineering assistance to functional groups on projects including resolution of simple to most complex troubleshooting activities. .
