Project Technical Manager

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Technical Manager (PTM) to join our Engineering team. This position is based in Windsor, Connecticut, USA.

Primary Responsibilities:  The PTM performs as technical lead, responsible for coordination and integration of core Engineering processes; Boiler and Pressure Part Design, Piping Systems and Controls, Fabricated Components, and Engineered Systems and Components in accordance with project requirements on assigned projects.  The PTM is accountable for customer related administrative activities including, but not limited to, maintaining project schedules, review of and response to submitted documents, and on-time transmission of engineering deliverables.  The PTM is the primary point of contact between project management, the customer, the AE or the consortium partner with in-house engineering.  Contract requirements may also require coordination of sub-contractors as a part of the execution team.  In addition to overall technical coordination, the PTM has responsibility for review, documentation, and compliance with project technical requirements including schedule and communication of schedule for technical activities, specifications, weight estimates, scope, technical risk, and design freeze.  The PTM may also be asked to produce, check, or approve engineering drawings or component selection sheets.  The PTM is expected to provide senior technical support to the contract execution team on matters of design, manufacture, and performance of our products.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: BS in Engineering discipline with at least 8 years professional Engineering experience or MS in Engineering with at least 5 years professional experience or practical experience sufficiently applicable to the specified position functions.

 

Working knowledge of P.C. based word processing, spreadsheet, database and engineering program applications, including JDEdwards and Lotus Notes.  Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment with daily project related deadlines, where on-time delivery of scheduled items is critical to business success.
